Cassie + Gabes' Skyline Lodge Elopement
I am so excited to share this wedding with you all. Cassie + Gabe got married at the Skyline Lodge in October with their closest of kin surrounding them. Before we dive into the details of the day, lets talk about the couples story and how they came to be. Cassie and Gabe went to elementary school together. As what happens with most grade school classmates, you continue your education, move away from home and start your life. That was the journey for these two until fate brought them back together in their late 30's. After this reunion they became inseparable.
They knew they wanted to get married with their family, kids {2 + 4 legged}, and close friends in attendance. Not only did Cassie and Gabe know they wanted to celebrate with all their people but also they wanted to share a place that was near and dear to their hearts, the Highlands. These two fell in love with the Highlands from a previous trip together. They were mesmerized by the mountains, the hiking and the waterfalls. Planning a destination wedding from out of state is no easy task but Cassie said she had an incredible experience not only with the venue, Skyline Lodge, but also the florist, Sweet Stems Flower Bar.
In addition to those shout outs, I would also like to give a special shout out to both the couple and the Oak Steakhouse. You see, I had to drive back to Asheville after their wedding and Cassie and Gabe insisted I have a real meal before my drive. They didn't order me a vendor meal, instead they asked that I eat the exact same meal they were having. You guyyyyyyys, when I tell you this was the best filet I have ever had I'm not kidding. I was sent home with a filet and a wedge salad and drooled in the car when I opened up the containers.
Cassie and Gabe, you two are really cool humans. Thank you for letting me capture your day. Thank you for sharing your friends and family with me. Thank you for giving me a core memory wedding to cherish forever. Here are some of my favorite memories from the day.
