Angus' first snow of 2023

Well hey there! This is my first blog post on the new website. Im sure this will come as no surprise, but I would like to dedicate this first post to my golden retriever, Angus :) After an incredible fall down in Florida photographing all the families, pets, weddings and events that one can possibly squeeze into 3 months Angus and I packed up the car and headed North to the mountains. Arriving on January 10th I was already checking the forecast to see when we could expect the first snow. Sure enough, it was looking like January 14th was going to be the day. I anxiously waited, almost like a kid on Christmas morning, for the first snow flakes. As the sky started to "rain" white I giggled and immediately ran outside with Angus. Friday was when the snow began, but Saturday was when it stuck to the ground. Seeing Angus so happy, rolling in the snow, burying his nose and head underneath it brought me so much joy..... and near frostbite. LOL. Of course I had to grab my camera and capture every moment. The one moment I didn't bring my camera and am absolutely kicking myself for is when we woke up Sunday morning and the snow was still on the ground so we headed for a hike in Pisgah forest. I just didn't want to lug my equipment anywhere. Face to palm when we arrived to the trail. Untouched by humans it looked like Narnia. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the first two days, and a video from the Sunday morning hiking through "Narnia"
